The Chancel Choir at St. John’s United Church of Christ will sing “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” from Psalm 121, composed by Davis Giersch, former choral director at North Penn High School, at the 10:15 a.m. service on October 16. Faith Lutheran Church, 615 Cowpath Road, Montgomeryville continues to worship in the sanctuary as well as on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. Sunday School is held Sundays from 9:45 to 10:25 a.m. for ages 3-11. Grace Lutheran Church, 40 N. Main St., Hatfield, with Pastor Nancy M. Raabe continues its fall worship schedule of 8 and 10:30 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. A new worship experience, Contemplative Connection, is held from 7:30-7:50 p.m. on last Wednesdays of the month. During these times of pressure, draining schedules, and demanding responsibilities, our hearts and souls long for refreshment and peace that only comes from a deep connection with God. Christmas performance opportunity for volunteer musicians: Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church is hosting a Christmas concert on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 18, featuring the GSPC Chancel Choir and the GSPC Community Concert Band. The church is extending an invitation to community members to join the choir or band for this special and festive event. If you play an instrument or love to sing, you are welcome to participate in either musical ensemble! Choir rehearsals are on Sundays at noon and Concert Band rehearsals are on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church announces its Fall Rummage Sale to be held Friday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, Bag Sale, 8 – 11 a.m. The rummage sale will include: new or used clothing in good, clean condition for adults and children, including indoor and outdoor wear, handbags, socks, scarves, gloves, hats and shoes. Also included are small household items and clean linens (blankets, sheets towels, tablecloths and curtains). Also included are jigsaw puzzles, writing paper, craft materials, children’s toys, games and books, and all kinds of jewelry. A Trivia Night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be October 22 at St. Helena’s Church in Blue Bell. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church organizes and runs a Mission Week every fall and spring where members of the congregation and the broader community will have the opportunity to dedicate time to assist in a community service activity. The 7th Fall Mission Week will be held from Oct. 30 – Nov. 5. Opportunities are available to support one of five community service organizations. There will be hands-on-volunteer activities for all ages for those who wish to volunteer in a group or individually, from home, at the location of a mission organization, or at the church on a week day evening or a weekend. Organizations include: Caring for Friends — volunteer to participate in a group cooking day to prepare meals for the frail and isolated homebound; Habitat for Humanity — volunteer to assist with building a new home for a local family who otherwise could not afford home ownership; Keystone Opportunity Center — volunteer to pack fresh produce for those in need of food support into boxes and load it into client’s cars; Gamma Services — donation of nonperishable foods, disposable pans, and grocery gift cards for Thanksgiving Day bags for underserved families; Manna on Main Street — donation of food, beverage, household, and cooking items to help individuals in need of assistance. Please contact Ralph Insinga (rpinsinga@yahoo.com or 610-278-9656) or the Gwynedd Square Church Office (215-699-9159) to receive additional details regarding these activities and how to participate.
