A Municipal Election will be held in the City of San Ramon on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, for the following City of San Ramon officers:

The nomination filing period is now open, and closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022.

The nomination period will be extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 5 p.m. if an incumbent does not file for re-election by Friday, August 12, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Candidates are required to make an appointment with the City Clerk's Office to obtain and file nomination papers.

To be eligible to run for office, a candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, be a registered voter, and must be registered in the political subdivision for which you are running. The office is nonpartisan.

The "Picture This" Temporary Public Art exhibit is now in the Tri-Valley! Local artists have painted 33 large frames that have been placed throughout Tri-Valley cities, including eight frames in the City of San Ramon in notable locations for you to visit.

Visit the frames and take a picture, and share your picture on social media using #PictureThisTriValley and #PictureThisSanRamon. Don't forget to tag your location so others can locate your favorites.

"Picture This" is a temporary public art project by the City of San Ramon, Town of Danville, City of Dublin, City of Pleasant, and City of Livermore with cooperation from Visit Tri-Valley.

Following a nationwide search, Denton Carlson has been selected as San Ramon’s next Chief of Police. Carlson currently serves as Captain with the San Ramon Police Department, and has more than 24 years of experience as a peace officer—including  20 within the San Ramon community.

Carlson will be San Ramon’s fifth Chief of Police, and will replace former Chief Craig Stevens, who retired March 25, 2022 and has been serving as interim Chief during the hiring period.

Carlson will take the Oath of Office as part of the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 26 at San Ramon City Hall (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road). The meeting begins at 7 p.m. At this meeting, Chief Stevens will also be honored for his service. Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Join friends and family for a perfect summer evening in the San Ramon Central Park Amphitheater (12501 Alcosta Blvd) with the next show of our Summer Concert Series this Sunday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m., featuring ultimate party band David Martin's House Party (pictured). Bring a blanket or a low-backed lawn chair and be ready to rock the night away! 

A selection of savory and and sweet food truck options from The Food Truck Mafia will be available each week. This Sunday, check out food trucks from Crazy Empanadas  and  Rosie's Mexican Truck.  Wine, beer, soda and water will also be available for purchase.

♻ Three-stream recycling stations will now be provided at each summer concert. If you have disposable cans, bottles (Recycle ) or compostable paper plates and napkins (Organics ) stop by the (Recycle  / Organics  / Trash ) carts, and sort your waste to keep these events more sustainable. Together we can create a Trash-Free San Ramon.

The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the City of San Ramon, Chevron, and the San Ramon Arts Foundation. Concerts run weekly on Sundays at 5:30 p.m. until August 7 at Central Park Amphitheater (12501 Alcosta Blvd).

Shade structures, tents and umbrellas will only be permitted at the top of the ridge/hill to ensure lines of sight remain open.

San Ramon’s   Citizen Planning Academy  returns this fall!

This   free  5-week class   will be held at  City Hall  (7000 Bollinger Canyon Road) on  Monday  evenings at  6:30 p.m.   beginning  September 12, offering an overview of why cities plan, how planning shapes the community, and the land use planning process.

The course concludes with a Mock Planning Commission Meeting, where the participants serve as the Planning Commission, developers, and residents.

Following the course, class participants will be formally recognized at a City Council meeting.
