Middletown, New Jersey woman charged with murder of husband

Midtown-On Monday morning, a 73-year-old woman was charged with shooting and killing her husband in her home after telling the police that it was an accident.

Acting Monmouth County Attorney Lorilinski said on Tuesday that Michel Lin Zaron called the police to their home on Boden Road on Oak Hill at about 10:10 am and told the police that she accidentally shot and killed I have 74-year-old husband Rocky V. Lin Zhalong.

Investigators discovered that Rocky V. Linzalone had a gunshot wound to the head.

An investigation determined that the shooting was not accidental. Linzalone was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree possession of weapons for illegal purposes. She was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, waiting for her first court appearance on Tuesday.

The prosecutor did not disclose the motive or circumstances of the shooting.
