5 steps for a beautiful Easter table

I love all of the preparations for spring. Probably because it is one step closer to warmer weather and being outside more frequently. Easter is almost here and it is time to start prepping your table and putting a list together for your meal.  I really enjoy planning out the menu and cutting some fresh flowers for the table. I make the decor very simple and use items that most people would have around their home. I love setting the table for Easter and having each guest feel special at their own unique table setting.  The Easter Table — Add a Runner Plaids are very in for spring. I keep it very neutral, knowing I will add pops of color elsewhere. You can also opt for a beautiful tablecloth and off center it on the table as well.  Lay out your Platters The platters set the foundation to your table. Use pedestals and serving dishes or cutting boards for different heights. This makes the food more visible and creates more space. You can even stack appetizer plates to give some depth. Place settings For a more neutral look, use white place mats, silver flatware and off white plates. For a pop of color, add pink linen napkins. Add a little pizzazz to chocolate bunnies by tying a pink bow around their necks. You could add some birds nests or place cards as well.  Brunch Charcuterie What is a holiday without a charcuterie? My kids absolutely love them. I start with a rectangle cutting board. I want the focal point to be make your own sandwiches with fresh croissants, deli ham and turkey, and provolone. You can choose to add in condiments of an array of mustards from spicy to mild.  I bake some fresh blueberry and cranberry muffins. You can add mason jars of fresh jam. Another alternative would be cheddar and bacon cups that are bite sized and easy to serve. To fill in any extra space on the board, I reserve berries (raspberries, blueberries and grapes) for the very end.  Cocktails I add champagne glasses to my table and pour out the bubbly. I thought it would be nice to welcome my guests with drinks already served. They can choose a celebratory glass upon entry or with brunch. You can choose to have a signature menu, an assortment of beverages or keep it simple with one drink of choice. You are the host, don’t forget, so it is your decision. I do love the idea of champagne flutes, but you can always opt for canning jars for the season. They would look beautiful garnished with some raspberries or blueberries. You can choose to prep the drinks beforehand or have them prepared at the table.  All additions to the table can be kept simple. Start off by choosing your color theme, hues or blue, pink or yellow for the season. Then add in some natural elements, your own flower arrangement and everything will slowly come together.  Wishing you the happiest Easter with good health.  Amanda Piscitelli is a mom of three from Wallingford, a business owner and blogger of Livingwithamanda.com where she talks about motherhood, lifestyle and home decor.
