What New Jersey must put on the Thanksgiving table

Before I started working at 101.5 in New Jersey, I never knew it was actually a problem or an option. One night, while crossing the river with my good friend Ray Rossi, someone asked him what kind of macaroni to eat for Thanksgiving. When he told me they don’t do this at his house, you can use wet Noodle.

Not only do I think macaroni should be on the Thanksgiving table, I once suggested that Governor Murphy authorize it! Seriously, who would be excited about turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, and dessert pumpkin pie?

When was the last time you went to a restaurant in Jersey to order "Thanksgiving Dinner", not in November? Now people invented "Thanksgiving Pizza"! These people must be people who think the pineapple on pizza is a good idea! I just spit in my throat.

As we all know, turkey is not headline news. In fact, if you go to a comedy show and the headlines are a turkey, you will ask for your money back. What makes Thanksgiving beautiful is macaroni and red gravy. Maybe it's lasagna, or manicotti, or some grilled ziti. Together with some meatballs, sausages or bronchioles. It is natural to finish the appetizer.

In my house, we adjust around the football game. The Detroit Lions game at 12:30 was called the "Appetizer Bowl," and cold cuts and salad platters appeared in the second half, followed by macaroni and meat covered in gravy.

So the 4 pm Dallas Cowboys game is the "Turkish Bowl", which team is more suitable? In the third game, the Bill Saints will be a "dessert bowl" or "make sandwiches with leftover rice bowls".

This is what we did in the Trevelise family with my wife Deneen, my sons Lennon and Abert, and myself. We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving. How do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

Carlo Bellario: "Manicotti is the headline news."

Tiago Miguel Graca: "This shouldn't be a problem. It's a must. You only need macaroni."

Rick Verso: "Appetizers and macaroni are king!"

Robert Michelin: "My turkey and my macaroni said,'Why can't we get along well?'"

Giulio Polly: "What is red gravy."

Kieran Thomas Gormley: "I have never heard of red gravy."

Betty Kordes Samuels: "I didn't hear of this until I had an Italian neighbor. Still can't understand how you can eat pasta, then turkey and all the ingredients! Quack!"

Laurie Knott: "We always eat pasta before turkey! Lasagna or shell filled or grilled ziti...all delicious."

Mike Folk: "Let's talk about it, the Jew who grew up in Long Branch said it!"

John Manzo: "We always have macaroni courses. Every holiday. For everyone who asks for it. Ketchup is the sauce. Yes. Going back in time, my grandmother will take all the leftover meals. Put it in the sauce and cook it slowly on Sunday. This is called Ragu in Italian. Our ancestors wanted to assimilate and learn English, but there was no English translation of Ragu. So from Jersey City, Bloomfield, Nutley, Newark area The Italians turned the loose translation of meat sauce into Gravy. Their gravy is their "Sunday sauce" or "Sunday gravy." Once all the meat is out, bang, gravy."

Ali Noel: "Growing up with a Cuban mother, I have never had mashed potatoes or gravy (things on your turkey and potatoes) on Thanksgiving; we have our own special fillings and always have some sort of Spanish Rice and legumes (congri) and our'gravy' is meat (pernil) dripped with lemon juice, olive oil and fresh garlic."

Gail Morrone: "Steve Trevelise, you may agree with me. In Italian tradition, if there is meat in it, it is gravy, and if there is no meat, it is sauce. Sigh!!! Some people just don't understand."

Joanne Monaco: "Anti-spaghetti and macaroni!!!!!! My grandmother even put the gravy out!!! Haha."

Cindy Zwicker: "The lasagna of macaroni and vodka is always on my table with turkey!"
