What a striptease blitz on the Jersey Shore looks like

This is a rare sight, and most of us have never seen what happens in real time. However, if you are a fisherman and are lucky enough to be in it, it is simply exhilarating. Last week (November 16) we left Manas Springs and headed south along the beach.

We can see the birds working on a small group of recreational fishing boats near Bay Head and Mantoro King Beach. When we parked the boat on our boat, we could see and hear the bait fish jumping out of the water for striped bass. There are clusters of peanut bunkers along the beach to the south.

As the bunkers move along the beach, strippers will occasionally burst into feeding frenzy. All you have to do is put live bait or bait into battle, and you are almost guaranteed to catch a striped fish. They are not the large 40 or 50 pounds that are sometimes caught at this time of the year, but they are interesting.

We were unable to capture it via video, but about an hour later, we heard a huge splash of water and were able to quickly catch a glimpse of a thresher shark joining the frantic feeding.

At this time of the year, if you walk along the beach and watch the waves rising and falling on the shore, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of the nature shows.
